PROFILE INFO:
The images on this site are a result of several different paths converging. Back in the '70s, I bought my first Minolta SRT 102 SLR camera while studying for a degree in fine art. To help pay my way through college, I started a sign business and continued it after graduating with a bachelor's degree in Fine Art in Painting. With a slow down in the oil industry in Oklahoma City, we moved to Jackson Hole, WY in 1986 to start a new sign shop. After a few years, it became apparent to me the sign industry was moving in a computerized digital graphics direction.
Anticipating that shift in direction in the late '80s, I began taking classes and learning photographic digital editing in programs like Adobe Photoshop and Fractal Design Painter. Photography continued to play a background role, however I managed to wear out several cameras.
Once I purchased by my first digital camera, everything simply "clicked". Besides the advances in cameras and lenses, printers have improved along with them. Captured and modified images can be printed in high resolution on archival paper with pigment based inks rated at 70-100 years. The bonus, of course, is the fact we live in one of the most beautiful places in the country. Wildlife and scenic opportunities abound here in Jackson Hole and the Yellowstone ecosystem.
The images on this site are the result of training in design and composition, a background in watercolor, oils, and acrylic painting techniques, years of photography, the unique subjects in front of me, and the techniques learned over 25 years in the graphic arts trade.
